  • Summary & Responsibilities

    The Finance Manager, Vendor Income is responsible for the administration, review, analysis and collection of all vendor rebate, bill back and marketing program income. This position is responsible for managing of a team of financial accountants and analysts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage the administration of the STAR system for vendor allowance program set-up, billing and monitoring to record income accurately and timely
    • Partner with Senior Category Managers to ensure all vendor programs are documented with a current Vendor Merchandising Agreement (VMA)
    • Manage the vendor receivables to collect funds and resolve vendor disputes
    • Manage month-end financial close for vendor income including analysis, accruals, journal entries and account reconciliations
    • Partner with Division and Corporate stakeholders to explain any variances to budget and prior year reported results for vendor purchase allowances, marketing funds and vendor bill backs
    • Audit system program tracking against vendor contracts to minimize potential for under billings; implement corrective actions, as needed
    • Partner with Divisional Marketing teams to monitor and bill vendor held marketing program
    • Drive process improvement initiatives, utilizing experience to suggest means for improving operational efficiency and effectiveness
    • Implement key performance indicators (KPI’s) to monitor team’s performance and hold department associates accountable to established goals
    • Provide leadership and coaching to develop associates to foster satisfaction and career growth
    • Manage within budgeted headcount to leverage expense base
    • Complete other duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting, and 7 or more years of relevant experience
    • Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required
    • Self-motivated, positive attitude and flexibility
    • Ability to manage workload utilizing various computer platforms/software applications
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage input from multiple workflows
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent research and reconciliation skills
    • Strong people skills, including the ability to motivate a team
    • Strong verbal/written communication and group presentation skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload for team, making trade-offs to manage deliverables
