Summary and Essential Duties

Develop and maintain a focus on specialty seafood in the areas of procurement, process, specifications, and sales.

Essential Duties:

  • Must demonstrate extensive product knowledge in fresh seafood.
  • Verify product quality upon receiving.
  • Coordinates activities with production to ensure proper execution of customer specifications.
  • Ability to analyze sales data to formulate policy for promoting sales, manage individual customer price lists, gather data for tracking and spreadsheets.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate the corporate goals.
  • Must effectively communicate with sales, through sales meetings, vendor fairs, and ride alongs.
  • Deliver sales presentations to Key clients in coordination with sales representatives. Must have the ability to effectively present and communication information via telephone, writing or on a one to one basis. Must effectively interact with our customer base.
  • Review yields.
  • Oversee production activities along with assisting shipping and receiving on tasks; (Receive, inspect and store seafood upon delivery; Record the quantity of seafood received and issued).
  • Negotiate transportation and procurement of seafood.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from college or university; or 5 years related experience = equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Current driver's license and auto insurance required.
  • Mathematic Skills: must be able to calculate amounts such as discounts, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Knowledge of accounting, database, internet, ordering and inventory software as well as Word and Excel.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays.
