Summary and Essential Duties

The Enterprise Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program Manager develops and manages programs meant to protect associate health and safety or promote environmental compliance throughout the enterprise. This position is eligible for considerations for remote work.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead initiatives that impact the adoption and implementation of EHS programs, practices, and procedures throughout the organization
  • Lead development of EHS program initiatives that embed EHS practices into daily positive operational behaviors
  • Develop EHS Program requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations while meeting safety/ environmental management system best practices
  • Review EHS systems for technical accuracy and effectiveness and direct corrective action as appropriate
  • Management responsibilities for identifying and resolving opportunities for improvement within EHS program
  • Maintain superior EHS subject matter expertise
  • Serve Operations as Shamrock’s in-house EHS consultant by, among other things, translating technical EHS requirements into practical guidance useable by personnel not expert in EHS matters
  • Interface with regulators such as OSHA, EPA, and state and local authorities (in coordination with the HR and Operations teams) to address EHS issues
  • Drive timely and accurate monthly EHS process management leading and lagging indicator measurement reporting across the Enterprise
  • Provide EHS training as needed to mentor EHS implementors, ensuring their success
  • Concisely escalate EHS program management issues to upper management
  • Develops relationships with internal customers
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental compliance, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in safety and/or MBA preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/ or safety certification
  • Registered Environmental Manager (REM) or environmental certification preferred
  • 5+ years working with Safety Management Systems
  • 8+ years of related EHS experience with 4+ years in a supervisory/management role preferred
  • Foodservice, warehouse, or manufacturing industry experience preferred
  • Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 Management Systems
  • Strong understanding of OSHA & EPA standards and best practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to articulate key EHS information to the enterprise, including to non-EHS professionals
  • Proven ability to effect positive systems change, identify opportunities, sustain results, and share learning to an organization
  • Ability to work in deadline-driven environment
  • Self-motivated leader
  • Strong people skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work in order to meet deadlines
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the role which may be subject to evenings, weekends and holidays
