Job Description

The Director of Insights and Analytics-Category & Customer will be responsible for working with the marketing/ brand management and sales teams to understand key categories, brand and customer performance drivers and analyze future areas for growth for the branded portfolio:  Shamrock Farms and Rockin’ Protein Brands. They will work collaboratively with Brand & Sales Director(s), Managers, Trade Finance to develop data driven, incremental growth strategies. This position will report to the Senior Director of Brand Management, Insights & Analytics and will have 2-3 direct reports.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop category, channel, and customer expertise by identifying root drivers of categories, customers and competitive performance and insights through Internal and External market data (IRI, Retailer Scan data, Panel Data, Customer Loyalty Card Data, NPD, Power BI)
  • Lead development of best-in-class of national and retailer specific category customer sell in decks for annual category reviews and new item launches across channels: FOOD, MASS, CONV, QSR, CLUB
  • Effectively synthesizes data from multiple sources, translates to insights and recommended actions in concise and clear story via power point & dashboards.
  • Build best- in-class monthly, quarterly, and annual Category, Channel and Customer Business Reviews & scorecards
  • Lead integration of internal and external data sources with IT to create dashboards and scorecards to measure & report business performance
  • Lead the development of new data sources to uncover customer insights and sales opportunities across categories, retailers, channels, and product lines
  • Provide analytic support to identify new business opportunities across the brand portfolio and customer channels to drive incremental & profitable growth
  • Partner with Brand Mgmt team & Sales team to develop category growth strategies and data driven selling stories by customer to increase penetration and propel sales nationally and regionally  
  • Work with Brand Management to analyze & size potential new white space opportunities in existing and adjacent categories,
  • Lead retail pricing and promotion analytics and implications. Work cross functionally with Sales, Brand Mgmt Team and Finance to review and assess retail pricing, promotional strategies and lifts to drive business growth
  • Serve as category, channel and competitive subject matter expert and resource for the brand &  sales team
  • Coach, train and develop 2-3 direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
  • 7 years of related experience required
  • Highly Proficient with: Power BI, POS databases: IRI or Nielsen
  • Expert in PowerPoint and excel Demonstrates ability to translate data to clear and concise story in PowerPoint
  • Fluency in P&L
  • 3 years of -analytics leadership experience required
  • Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to think fast and react in a fast paced, results driven environment
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays
