Driver Check In Clerk - Denver, CO

Checks in drivers returning from delivery routes. Confirms driver’s documents are precise. Records information pertaining to merchandise to be returned to warehouse because of defects, wrong amount, or type. Returns product to proper slots and/or areas by performing the following duties.


* Immediately report any accidents, injuries, malfunctions on equipment, and safety issues and/or unsafe practices to a Supervisor and must obey all signs and lock out / tag out devices.
* Driver check-in to be conducted in back of driver’s trailer only.
* Precise verification of merchandise with original invoice to record information such as quantity, type of defects, and date.
* Accurately confirms that the driver coded return merchandise properly on invoice to explain reason for returned goods.
* Examines overage report and accurately verifies driver has precisely accounted for all returned product on Overage Document.
* Immediately reports any and all discrepancies related to reason code, disposition, and invoice adjustments to a Supervisor.
* Ensures disposition for all returned products at the time of check-in. A Supervisor must be contacted if a disposition cannot be made at the time of check-in.
* Ensure returning product is in proper compartment of trailer.
* Communicates with sales people when a problem occurs that needs special attention.
* Compiles and files list of merchandise handled.
* Verifies number of totes, pallets and milk crates returned, enters discrepancies as appropriate.
* Coordinates activities with recoup and salvage personnel.
* Looks up information on computer and/or in books to obtain product code when necessary.
* Makes certain integrity of product is good before returning to stock. Sends damaged product to proper recoup area (salvage area).
* Palletizes and sorts product to be returned to ASRS warehouse according to temperature zone and pick level. Marks pallet with identifying information (see attached diagram).
* Transports palletized product from returns dock to staging area and/or receiving dock.
* Utilizes RF gun and/or fixed computer station to enter data.
* Operates tuggers, forklifts, and pallet jacks as necessary to complete job function.
* Other duties may be assigned.


* High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
* One to three months related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department which are subject to evenings, weekends, and holidays
* Must be able to work in various temperature controlled zones ranging from -5 F to ambient temperature

Physical Demands: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
