Accounts Receivable Supervisor - Phoenix, AZ

Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of accounts receivable staff engaged in producing accurate and timely financial data


  • Thorough knowledge of cash application processes, credit card expense disbursement, bank statement reconciliation, and weekly cash flow reporting.
  • Manage proper financial internal controls through the proper segregation of duties. Measured by external audit report.
  • Timely and accurate posting of all Customer & Vendor payments in the most efficient method possible:
    oVia all sources such as Checks, Cash, ACH, Wires, Credit Cards, etc.
  • Balance Sheet Recons for assigned GL accounts (Cash, AR, Bad Debt, etc.)
  • Lead and drive more efficient accounting processes through SBPI projects. Measured by number of projects and hard/soft savings.
  • Manage and maintain communication and good working relationships with all internal departments. Measured by feedback from department heads.
  • Manage accounting department expenses to budget. Measured by variance to budget.
  • Audit support as needed
  • Reporting and special requests related to AR
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises accounting associates; providing leadership and guidance. Promote the enhancement of basic accounting skills through education and training. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems


  • 5+ years of related experience; 2+ years of experience in an accounting supervisor capacity; Bachelor’s Degree (Accounting, Finance and/or Business Management) preferred; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Ability to operate ten key by touch. Competent typing abilities (40 words per minute)
  • Computer literate, preferably on Microsoft Office products. Must have flexibility in approach to procedure and projects.
  • Must be able to multi-task and handle several projects simultaneously.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work the demands of the department
